Milford Haven is a town in Pembrokeshire, Wales, on the north side of the inlet of the same name. Founded as a whaling centre in the 18th century, the town's port is one of the largest in the United Kingdom in terms of tonnage and plays an important role in the United Kingdom's energy sector with several oil refineries and one of the biggest LNG terminals in the world.
Attractions in the town include Fort Hubberstone, built in 1863 to defend the port, the docks and marina, and the ruins of an observatory. The town museum, located centrally in the docks area, is housed in the town's oldest building, the Custom House which dates back to 1797.
Since the mid 1990s tourism has provided a base for travellers, from which to explore the local coastline, and growing employment opportunities for locals.
